There are many things I have picked up from my dad. One characteristic that doesn't miss a beat between us is the fact that we have a hard time sitting still. My fiancée has become quite familiar with it and often complains that I "always need to be doing something". This is entirely true, simply because there isn't enough time in a day and I never want to miss out on anything.
My childhood and teen years were active ones to say the least. It all started with the usual sports: soccer, baseball, even a season of football. Eventually my taste in athletics took a turn in a different direction and soon enough, BMX, skateboarding, wakeboarding, and (last but not least) wakeskating was all I wanted to do. Somehow I managed to squeeze cross country, pole vault, and art in there as well.
After high school I attended the University of Central Florida. Coincidentally, Orlando is the "mecca" of wakeboarding and wakeskating. I took advantage of that and was on the water whenever I wasn't in class or working. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media and fell into a design position with my first clothing sponsor, Underground Products. From there I juggled my graphic design duties and professional wakeskating, and still do to this day. I'd say that I've done a pretty good job at this so-called balancing act.
If that's not enough, I'm also on the road to starting a family. I'm engaged to a truly wonderful woman named Melissa. She completes me one hundred percent, and is also my voice of reason. We have two dogs together: Juno, who we adopted as a pup, and Jaxon, who I found when he was a few weeks old. We'll have some kids as well, just not yet.
I like to spend my time away from the computer (and off the water) doing a number of things: friends and family have always been important to me. Cars are intriguing so I like messing around with them, just as long as I don't break anything. And lately I've had a yearning for riding a bike again so I'm in the process of rebuilding an old Schwinn road bike. How I find time to do everything is beyond me.
