Walk On By

Wednesday was a good day for Orlando. The Corridor Project’s first event, Walk On By, kicked throughout the City Beautiful. From the east side of Princeton St. all the way to Palmer St., and from N. Orange Ave. all the way to Winter Park Rd., local artists set up shop on the street(s) of their choice and presented their works of art. This is what Patrick Greene, the event’s director and curator, has to say about Walk On By:

The sites can change based on desirability and availability. Artists are encouraged to create pieces that become a part of the spaces. The Corridor Project hopes to address the concerns of a contemporary art museum, by adapting, and respecting environmental, economic and other societal changes without compromising the project’s vision.

Through the Greater Good Initiative, we – FDG Creative – created a website to help promote this amazing event, as well as future events put on by The Corridor Project. We were also asked to contribute posters in an effort to spread the word. The idea behind mine was to create a  poster that would tell you what you needed to know while not being too loud. It’s simplicity could blend in with it’s surrounding environment, much like the artists’ works. Check out the poster below and let me know what you think!

Today marks my first week at my new job. My official title is New Media Designer and I think it has a nice ring to it. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Full Sail, but when I got the call with a new job offer, I knew it was time to part ways. I cannot thank the team at FDG {creative} enough for giving me a shot.

I definitely felt that Full Sail allowed me to grow as a creative and I am forever grateful to the company and my former coworkers. So as a small token, I left my old department with a little gift. Onwards and upwards I go.
