There never seems to be enough time to finish everything that I start. I think it’s just meant to be that way, like some cruel joke. This is just one of many works that sit on one of my hard drives, just waiting to be considered and completed. Maybe one day I’ll finish with whatever I was doing, but for now I’ll just think about it instead.

Manzari wedding

Last Sunday Melissa and I attended Matt and Bobbye Manzari’s wedding. The service started at 3:30pm so I thought to myself “it shouldn’t be a late wedding, plus it’s a Sunday, so I’ll be okay on Monday”. Wrong. I was not in my usual form the entire day. On the other hand, it was well worth it. We got to hang out with friends we haven’t seen in a while, enjoyed some awesome 2for1’s across the hall, Ben Horan thought he was a magician and attempted to pull out a tablecloth from under a table full of expensive stuff… and there was a photobooth.

Not much has gone on lately. I’m working a lot but the bills don’t pay themselves. We’re staying busy at work which is definitely a good thing though. Melissa and I are heading home for Mother’s Day, it should be a weekend of non-stop visiting of the family members. Never a dull moment when we go home, we’ll see if I can squeeze in a set while we’re there.

Speaking of riding, The WWA teamed up with Alliance Wake to bring you the 2010 Monster Energy Wake Park Triple Crown. With three stops spread throughout the summer, this tour through the U.S. could be a milestone in the cable wakeboard park scene. I plan competing at all three stops so be on the lookout for me if you’re there.

So I think its safe to assume that everyone knows about the tragic flooding going on in Tennessee (as well as the massive oil spill in the Gulf Coast). Its good to know that the law enforcement is out there helping people through all this, but after I watched this video… I mean really?! Was handcuffing these kids necessary?

Melissa and I spent our Sunday shooting engagement photos with JP Douglass and Wes Sumner of JP&W Wedding Photography. We just got our photos back and all we could say was ‘WOW’. These guys really know their shit when it comes to photography, film and digital. Here are some of my favorites at the moment…

JP and Wes also shot a little video for fun, and the end result is just as good as the photos…

My buddy Dieter Humpsch (let’s shred Diets!) introduced me to Foals, a UK band, a while back and I’ve followed them ever since. They’re getting ready to release a new album soon and I couldn’t be more excited. Actually, I’d be more excited if they ever toured in the States (Florida preferably). If you’ve never heard of Foals before, check out this video from their album, Antidotes.

Melissa and I went home last weekend to do some wedding preparations. While we were there I paid a visit to Dunkelvolk, my new clothing sponsor. The company has roots in the Peruvian surf & skate industry, dating back to 1996 to be exact. The U.S. Division is located in Ft. Lauderdale so I get to drop in on them whenever I go home… though I try not to bug them too much haha. Their 2010 line has dropped and I was able to snag some goodies. Thanks Dunkelvolk, I’m pumped on the new gear!

Whenever we go home it feels like we’re on the go non-stop, and this three-day visit was far beyond the norm. We were in zombie mode by the time we pulled up to our house Monday night, but see this on our doorstep perked me up real fast…

Ladies and gentlemen, my CVT has arrived! I pre-ordered this baby from Bullet Lines and was highly anticipating it’s arrival. Although it would have been nicer if it came with some sort of paperwork, I’m not going to complain because the my winch project is in motion again! No pun intended.

Making progress on Melissa’s bike

The white walls came in on Monday so I decided to get some work done.

I started with the rear wheel because of the flat and the chain needed replacing.

What I like about Melissa’s bike the most are all the little novelty pieces on it, like this nut with a Raleigh logo on it. There’s a few more scattered about the bike. Maybe I can find some more on eBay…

The back wheel is back on, along with the new chain. I didn’t even know it was a gold anodized chain… bonus! The chainguard is still off because I want to polish that sprocket some.

The rear fender is also off because it needs to be straightened out some. Might be a good time to do some more polishing. Brake levers are on their way so Melissa won’t have to Flintstone it. That seat needs to go, too. More updates coming real real soon.

Project number three

Introducing Melissa’s new (sorta) bike: a ~’72 Raleigh Sports woman’s bike with a 3-speed rear hub. I surprised her with it last week and she instantly fell in love. The original paint and decals/emblems still look but could use a little polishing. About 98% of the parts are original with the only two exceptions being the seat and the front tire. The parts I’ve picked up so far this project are: a new chain, tube, rim tape, brake cable, and a cute hamburger bell. A fresh set of 1 3/8″ white walls are in the mail and I’m hoping to order a more period-spec saddle soon… maybe a Brooks?

Keep an eye on my blog for more updates on this project, along with my other projects that I’ve yet to really touch on.

I guess it was bound to happen sometime – the point where I become too busy to post, let alone check up on my site. Tonight I broke that habit and paid my little creation a visit, and it’s a good thing I did. If you’ve checked out my home page or any portion of my portfolio, you might have noticed that something wasn’t right. Well something indeed was not right. I panicked… freaked out on the inside if you will. So I took a deep breath, gathered my thoughts, and started at my stylesheet. Lo and behold, one line of code was missing a quotation mark. I fixed it and refreshed my site, and everything was back to normal. Whew!

So I apologize if anyone noticed the error going on, its rather embarrassing. I’m working on coming around more often. Thanks for your support.
